The Telltale Signs of a Remote Problem
Symptoms of Remote & Clicker Issues:
Lost or Stolen Remote
Can't Program a New Remote or Car
Can I Fix It Myself?
What You Can Safely Check:
- Change the Battery: This is the https://www.google.com/search?q=%231 fix. Most remotes use a simple coin battery (like a CR2032) that you can replace.
- Check the "Lock" Button: Look at your main wall-mounted control panel inside the garage. Many have a "Lock" or "Vacation" button. If this is pressed, it intentionally locks out all remotes.
- Try Reprogramming: Find the "Learn" button on your opener motor (you may need a ladder). Press and release it, then press and hold the button on your remote.
- Check the Antenna: The opener motor has a small antenna wire hanging from it. Make sure it's not damaged and is hanging straight down.
When to Call a Professional
If you’ve tried all the steps above and it still doesn’t work.
If you lost a remote and need to clear your opener’s memory and reprogram all your other remotes.
If you can’t program your new car’s HomeLink system.
If you suspect signal interference (like from a new appliance or LED light) is the problem.
If the remote’s signal range is very poor, as the opener’s receiver (logic board) may be failing.
Our technicians can diagnose signal issues, provide new remotes, and securely program your entire system.
What to Do Right Now If Your Remote Fails
Follow these steps in order:
- Step 1: Change the battery in the remote.
- Step 2: Go to your wall-mounted control panel and check if the "Lock" button is activated. Turn it off.
- Step 3: Try reprogramming the remote using the "Learn" button on the opener motor.
- Step 4: Check for interference. Did you recently install new LED light bulbs in or near the opener? Try turning them off and see if the remote works.
- Step 5: If a remote is lost, your immediate priority is security. Call a professional to have your opener's codes cleared, rendering the lost remote useless.
- Step 6: If it still fails, call Simple Garage Door at 415-993-5355.

AVERAGE Based on 154 reviews Posted on Jennifer NeuenfeldTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. First room (310) we were in found a roach on the floor, fire alarm broken, and the toilet didn't work, they moved us to a smaller room (307) missing TV controllers and TV was proped against the wall. Dresser drawers were broken. Beds very uncomfortable and squeak and I could have sworn I saw something scurry under the bed when we walked in but since the bottom portian of the mattress is falling off i couldnt see anything....we are considering leaving now as its very gross. I'm fine with thin walls, I get that old hotels have that but the rest is just gross. EDIT: we ended up staying since we were exhausted. Listened to little critters running on the roof but never saw any signs of something living in the room, whew. Shower was hot, sheets were clean, for a SF hotel less than 200 just beware that y9ubget what you pay for. Gorgeous view of the ocean when I work up though!Posted on Ed ChuTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This all about the location and they allow dogs. And I was traveling with my dog so there's that. I can only speak for myself, but my room was a pretty big room. Having said that, the tv wasn't working but I had my Mac book and they had wifi. The dresser drawer was broken but it didn't really used it. Having said all that it was great. Within 50 feet of the beach. Cool ocean air 24/7. Close to some really good cafes and restaurants. Hard to beat. Oh, there was one thing concerning though, one of the windows to the room was broken and looked to be removable from the frame so anyone could of easily gotten in. So there is a bit of a safety concern.Posted on Derek HoenischTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. If Motel 6 would simply and in depth clean up and renovate this facility, it could be amazing. Its in an awesome location, easy parking, on and off street, 2/8/2026 but its just simply that they put in new flooring for the photos, and everything else is completely down trodden. Like honestly, One block from the beach, One block from Golden Gate park. easy easy access to little cafe's and restaurants, they, Motel 6, could have it all, but they haven't put in any effort, and it shows.Posted on Irene MillerTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Don’t do it!! We did not like our room 214 stay. Room was not clean and was not ready at our check in 5pm. The only light in the entire room was a broken plug in floor lamp. The console door with tv on was off the hinges. TV was lop sided . Wall behind it had dried brown liquid splatters. The bathroom toilet paper holder was broken off the wall. The wall behind the sink also had visible brown splatters. The window frames in the room were rusted and did not close all the way. We Felt unsafe. The location was the only redeemable attraction. We would not stay again and would not recommend to anyone .Posted on Ms Vee51Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We're in SF for medical appts. We have 2 dogs and to be near the beach when you're from behind the redwood curtain, staring at Humboldt Bay and the ocean all day, it's a blessing to the foursome that is my family. That said this trip...the gate was broken just outside our room and !CRASHED! closed like the grates of hell closing behind them. We need rest, we needed uninterrupted sleep for my husband having a procedure. He and I looked like MasterBlaster hunting Mad Max. Update after Management's comment. As in fact, I did speak to on site desk person ( the only person I have seen in my 2 combined trips to the establishment) if he put a sign to caution other guest that the gate bangs. A pillow or someway to mitigate the noise which you acknowledge kinda the way you did in this post. I heard you behind me as I returned to my room, then you drifted off saying something about tools. And there wasn't any guest staying next to us. I think you might have forgotten the the staircase that lays behind that gate too. With many kind words, yet the gate continued to bang the next night too. The on site guy is really seems nice. But, unless the beach is your main goal without paying the criminal chargers of staying in SF. It not bad. The room are a good size and clean. There is plenty of parking before sunset. If you park after dark, just have a confident walk. I carried scissors in my pocket. Bring your own ice. There hasn't been a machine for at least 6 months and hope the on site manager is available or your are persistent to use the only microwave on premises in the lock office area. And I must return to the Thunderdome before Blaster gets lost. Love from, Lost Coast behind the Redwood curtain.Posted on DIVVZIRO_ORIZVVIDTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
